Mercury Dime (1916-1945)
Description
1936-D Winged Liberty Head (Mercury) Dime, struck at the Denver Mint, composed of 90% silver and 10% copper. The obverse displays the left-facing portrait of Liberty wearing a winged cap with 'IN GOD WE TRUST' and the date 1936 visible. The reverse shows the fasces and olive branch design with 'ONE DIME' and 'UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.' The D mintmark is confirmed by operator context and is visible on the reverse left of the fasces base, consistent with standard Mercury dime placement. The coin is a standard business strike with no proof or special finish characteristics.
