Description
Oval reverse-carved intaglio pendant in the Essex crystal tradition, depicting a classical female bust in profile with elaborate upswept hair and period costume rendered in yellow pigment against an amber-tinted dark glass or resin ground. The carving is viewed through the flat polished face of the stone, creating a three-dimensional illusion characteristic of the technique. The cameo is set in a plain oval silver-tone bezel with an attached bail; no hallmarks are visible on the bezel or chain from the provided angles. A lightweight silver-tone cable chain with lobster clasp is included, with a small clear rhinestone accent charm suspended near the clasp. The reverse of the pendant shows the carved relief from behind, confirming the intaglio construction.
