Roosevelt Silver Dime (1946-1964)
Description
1946 Roosevelt Dime struck at the Philadelphia Mint (no mintmark) in 90% silver, 10% copper. This is the first year of John R. Sinnock's Roosevelt design, introduced shortly after the President's death to replace the Mercury dime. The obverse shows Franklin D. Roosevelt facing left with 'LIBERTY' and the date; the reverse displays a torch flanked by olive and oak branches symbolizing peace and strength. A circulated 90% silver example with a standard business-strike finish.
